Are you asking for a list? Do you actually know these recordings? If you did, you would not use the word 'handful'. Read 'Conversations with Arrau' by Joseph Horowitz or read the notes in his published edition of the Beethoven Sonatas (Edition Peters). He was humble in other aspects of his life but when it came to interpreting Beethoven he truly believed that his hard-fought painstakingly-researched interpretative choices were more often than not 'the' way.
