Yep, the rule was only made a few months ago (and if there was any rule about it before then, it wasn't being enforced), and I wasn't going to be enforcing it retroactively, so you would have been fine either way. I understand that there's some costs to maintaining that much data, but intermediate ad links can be extremely annoying and disruptive (they can sometime make it impossible to actually download the file, if you're using something like adblock or noscript), so I think you can imagine why I would want them kept to a minimum.

I never played Platinum, but assuming it's not too completely different from Diamond. I DEFINITELY say SoulSilver. However, just so you know, if you're planning to play both, Platinum might be kind of a step back after playing SoulSilver because they've added a lot of new features and it's pretty much revolutionized it even more than the other DS games did (I think, anyway). I just got Diamond about a month ago and played through it and everything, and I really really enjoyed it.

It's not a bad game. But playing SoulSilver, I'm sitting here the whole time like. Is this real? Yeah, it's amazing. Platinum was a good game but from what I've played of SS (about 4 Gyms in), the latter is a great game.
