Haunted Horror 15 .cbr

Welcome on this blog full of information about Horror and Mystery Comics, and offcourse the comics. Horror comics are comic books, graphic novels, black-and-white comics magazines, and manga focusing on horror fiction. Horror comic books reached a peak in the late 1940s through the mid-1950s, when concern over content and the imposition of the self-censorship Comics Code Authority contributed to the demise of many titles and the toning down of others. Black-and-white horror-comics magazines, which did not fall under the Code, flourished from the mid-1960s through the early 1980s from a variety of publishers.

Back from the opened grave are more masterpieces of the macabre from the horror comics of the 1950s. Genius horror artists of the known and unknown variety poured their tortured souls into these.

Mainstream American color comic books experienced a horror resurgence in the 1970s, following a loosening of the Code. While the genre has had greater and lesser periods of popularity, it occupies a firm niche in comics as of the 2010s. The first dedicated horror comic books appear to be Gilberton Publications’ Classic Comics #13 (Aug.

1943), with its full-length adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and Avon Publications’ anthology Eerie #1 (Jan. 1947), the first horror comic with original content.

The first horror-comics series is the anthology Adventures into the Unknown, premiering in 1948 from American Comics Group, initially under the imprint B&I Publishing. You can access the information and comics through the sidebar. The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format. You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack. I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents. So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

Hey Boutje, First off, thank you so much for your hard work and dedication. I can tell this took you years to do and it’s a treasure trove.

I have a question for the horror connoisseur. I’m new to comics. I’ve always loved Creepshow and I’ve watched every Tales of the Crypt episode many times, along with many other horror anthology films, books and tv shows (Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, Asylum, Books of Blood, etc.). I’ve been trying to get into the comics now, starting with Tales from the Crypt, Vault of Horror and Haunt of Fear. What, in your personal opinion, are the best of all of these series? There are so many to choose from. I’ve seen blogs stating that Creepy, Eerie and Swamp Thing are all in the top 5ish.
